Directorate of Enforcement (ED), Jalandhar has filed a Prosecution Complaint (PC) before the Special Court (PMLA), Jalandhar against Gurdeep Singh Ex. Sarpanch Village Rano (Ranwan), Ludhiana and others, under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002 on July 5th 2024. The court has taken cognizance of the PC on July 20th 2024.

ED initiated investigation on the basis of an FIR registered by the Special Task Force (STF), Punjab Police under various sections of IPC, 1860, NDPS Act, 1985 and Arms Act, 2019.

ED investigation revealed that Gurdeep Singh has illegally acquired assets through the Proceeds of Crime relating to smuggling of narcotic drugs. Earlier a Provisional Attachment Order was issued for attachment of properties owned by Gurdeep Singh and his family members, for an amount of Rs. 6.48 Crore (approx.) under the provisions of the PMLA, 2002, and the said attachment order has been confirmed by the Adjudicating Authority, PMLA, New Delhi on July 7th 2023.
